Which Disposable Glove Type Is Most Suitable for Your Workplace

Different disposable glove types can have different benefits, and these can even be workspace specific. In this article we will outline the disposable glove types that are available, going over the advantages that they can bring to your place of work.

Latex Gloves

Different types of disposable gloves offer different factors that make them suitable for multiple uses. Latex gloves are perhaps the most commonly used, versatile disposable glove type out there. The strong, durable latex material that they have been manufactured with means that they provide incredible long-lasting protection against a large number of potentially damaging materials, liquids or gases. Latex is also great for use in the workplace as they give you a snug fit, you will sometimes even forget that you have them on. This sensitivity of touch means that you can perform even the most delicate tasks with relative ease whilst not losing out on any protection.

Nitrile Gloves

Nitrile gloves are manufactured out of a strong synthetic rubber that gives you all the protection of a latex glove, whilst eliminating any potential risk of allergies that some people may have to latex. This incredible strength that nitrile provides makes them great for industrial and commercial usage as you will remain protected against just about anything you may come into contact with. If you work in the industrial sector you will be able to handle potentially harmful chemicals with ease and security whilst wearing nitrile gloves. We even provide heavy duty nitrile gloves that will give you that little bit of extra protection you may need.

Polythene Gloves

Polythene gloves are often used in more low-risk applications as they only offer a basic level of protection against dirt and dust. Often, people will see this disposable glove type as a more cost-effective solution as opposed to the more robust nitrile and latex options. Whilst the material is thinner, they do still offer some protection, however, the main benefit lies in the fit. The loose fit of polythene gloves means that they are great for quick use, there is going to be no struggle putting them on and off making them easy to just pick up and go. This makes them perfect for sectors such as hospitality, food preparation, care homes and doctors surgeries.

Vinyl Gloves

Vinyl gloves have become an incredibly popular disposable glove type and a strong alternative to nitrile and latex. These gloves work much in the same way as latex gloves, although they are made from high quality PVC. This can be good for people that may potentially have latex allergies. The PVC that is used in the manufacturing process is designed to give users a looser fit to latex gloves, making them great for quick uses, much in the same way as polythene gloves. However, the PVC used also gives them that added bit of protection that a polythene glove does not. This means that whilst PVC has the quick usability needed, it also has added levels of safety against potentially harmful materials and chemicals. This makes Vinyl Gloves perfect for use in quick-paced environments such as hospitals or industry.

Surgical Gloves

Surgical gloves are considered as the strongest disposable glove type available, making them perfect for medical environments. In a situation in which you need to keep yourself and others safe, you should always consider surgical gloves as they provide incredible protection against cross-contamination in medical environments. The comfortable fit of surgical gloves has been specially designed to give the user the ability to wear them for prolonged periods of time. Whilst this different type of disposable glove is primarily used in the medical environment, it can be used in industries that require a sterile, protective glove.
